Healthy Food, Small Market Program launching to expand access to nutritious options in Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and the city of Toledo are officially launching the Healthy Food, Small Market Program, an initiative aimed at increasing access to healthy foods and beverages in neighborhood markets across the city.

A kickoff event is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Main Library in downtown Toledo. Local and federal leaders, including Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, will join Health Commissioner Karim Baroudi and representatives from participating stores.
