On October 16, 2025, the Lucas County Retired Teachers’ Association awarded $1,000 scholarships to three University of Toledo College of Education students: Rachel Seekins, Mackenzie Kirkendall, and Emma Fritsch. Seekins graduated from Brookside High School, Kirkendall from Bowsher High School, and Fritsch from Evergreen High School.
