Venezuelan man indicted on state charges arising from high-school enrollment

A Venezuelan man who posed as a juvenile refugee to enroll in Perrysburg High School last year faces state charges for a second time for misrepresenting himself to school officials.

The Wood County grand jury indicted Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra, 24, on Wednesday for third-degree perjury and fifth-degree forgery based on allegations he presented a false birth certificate to the school district and made false statements about his age and legal status.

Labrador was initially charged in Perrysburg Municipal Court with felony forgery when his alleged deception came to authorities’ attention in May, but that charge was dismissed without prejudice after federal officials accused him of obtaining false documents and using them to buy a gun…
