Lucas County deputy charged with hit-and-run after investigation

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Lucas County Sheriff’s deputy is facing charges in Sylvania Municipal Court for allegedly hitting a car and not stopping.

The incident happened on Sept. 30 in the afternoon on the overpass on Garden Road and I-475. The sheriff’s office launched an internal investigation following the hit-and-run.

Body camera video released by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office shows the investigation, with faces blurred. A 46-year-old woman reported that someone had hit her car and kept going. The woman’s vehicle had scrapes and a large dent on the driver’s door.,
