TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Public Schools said it would temporarily suspend the “majority” of its Head Start and Early Childhood Education programs beginning Dec. 1 as a result of the government shutdown.
Though the shutdown is expected to end as soon as Wednesday following an anticipated House vote, TPS said in a press release it had not received its Dec. 1 federal award notification, causing it to suspend program operations starting on Dec. 1.
The school district said this will impact more than 1,000 students enrolled in TPS-sponsored programs. 124 employees will also be impacted, TPS said…
