LANSING, MI — A Lenawee County man is looking forward to helping out his family after he won a huge prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s “Lucky for Life” game.
“I regularly play Lucky For Life and after the drawings I write down the winning numbers and then check my tickets,” said Douglas Higgins, 67, of Onsted. “I was circling the matching numbers on my ticket and when I was done, I thought: ‘Wait a second, I got five numbers?’ I rechecked the numbers and was stunned to find out I’d won $25,000 a year for life! It was a great feeling but also nerve wracking holding onto a ticket worth so much money!”
Higgins matched all five white numbers drawn — 01-10-30-32-33 — in the drawing held on Oct. 27 to win his prize. Higgins had the option of receiving the prize as $25,000 a year for the rest of his life or 20 years, whichever is longer or to receive a lump sum…
