85-year-old driver killed in crash on state Route 53 in Sandusky County

BALLVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — An 85-year-old Fremont man is dead after his car collided with intersecting traffic Saturday morning, Nov. 15, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.

It happened just after 11:30 a.m. on state Route 53 at the intersection of Buckland Avenue, in Sandusky County, according to a Saturday news release.

The driver, identified by troopers as Richard Berger, was traveling west on Buckland Avenue in a compact sedan, while a 38-year-old Sandusky man was headed south on state Route 53 in a heavy-duty pickup truck, according to the release…
