TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo has been named the winner of a grant of up to $120,000 that will allow the city to provide free outdoor concerts for three years, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced during a press conference Tuesday.
The Leavitt Music Series Grant accepted proposals for concert series around the country, with the public voting to determine which proposal should win. Toledo’s proposal, organized by ConnecToledo in partnership with the city and Metroparks Toledo, was named a finalist in late September.
Kapszukiewicz annoucned during an press conference pertaining to the city’s 2026 budget Tuesday that Toledo had been named the recipient of the concert series following a final review process. This will enable the city of Toledo to provide a free outdoor concert series in 2026, 2027 and 2028. Based on ConnecToledo’s proposal, it appears the concert series will be held again at Promenade Park, where the organization held it this year.
