WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is suing a Wood County contractor accused of taking large down payments for home-improvement projects, then performing poor work or leaving jobs unfinished.
The lawsuit names Brian Priest, who has operated the unregistered business Priest Roofing, Siding and Remodeling since 2023. According to complaints filed with the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section, Priest solicited work at customers’ homes, accepted substantial deposits and either did substandard work or failed to complete the projects. Some customers wrote checks to Priest personally instead of the business.
According to Yost’s office, three homeowners reported combined losses of more than $45,000, and two said they had to hire new contractors to finish or repair the work…
