TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine vetoed a provision in a bill that would have struck down a law that was enacted thanks to a 13 Action News investigation.
The 13 Action News I-TEAM reported in 2023 that crime victims had to pay hundreds of dollars to get their stolen cars out of the Toledo Police Department’s impound lot. The story led lawmakers to include a provision in the state’s budget that prohibited that practice.
