Ottawa County Sheriff’s boat patrolling again soon

PORT CLINTON – A check has been cut by the insurance company to repair damage from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office boat that sank during a July storm.

The futuristic-looking craft is a 34-foot Novielli aluminum hull boat. It cost $360,000, which was funded by the Department of Homeland Security. Its maiden voyage on Lake Erie was on June 2, 2025.

“It’s going to be repaired now. They went through everything, they cut us a check and now it’s getting repaired at Terry’s Marine Service. Insurance covered everything,” Chief Deputy Brad York said…
