Tragedy struck in downtown Toledo when police discovered the body of an unidentified person yesterday afternoon. Authorities were alerted to a “person down” at the 1100 block of Madison Avenue around 3:54 p.m., as reported by WTOL. Upon arrival, the individual, who appeared to be homeless and was later pronounced dead by the Toledo Fire and Rescue crews, was found lying outside.

In a separate incident, a 27-year-old man was hospitalized following a shooting that occurred Sunday night in the 1900 block of Fernwood Avenue, close to Waverly Avenue.
