Former director of Toledo non-profit sentenced to a decade in jail

TOLEDO, Ohio — Less than a month after he pleaded guilty, the former director of a Toledo non-profit was sentenced to prison for his theft conviction.

Thomas Ostrosky was sentenced to 10 to 13 years behind bars after investigators said he stole more than $200,00 from the organization – called the Lazarus Experience – and from elderly Ohioans, according to a press release from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s office.

Yost said Ostrosky must also pay restitution in the form of $207,650, which Yost’s office will then distribute for charitable purposes. Ostrosky is also barred from holding a position of trust or handling the financial affairs of others…
