TOLEDO, Ohio — Former tenants of the Riverside Mobile Home Park say demolition crews tore down their homes before they were given a fair chance to remove what remained inside, leaving behind personal items, medical equipment and irreplaceable belongings.
Charles Parker and his wife, Carol Kelly, returned to the park earlier this week to find their trailers already demolished. The couple says they were told by a demolition worker that they had until Wednesday to finish clearing three units where their belongings were stored. When they arrived Monday, however, Parker says the trailers were gone and their possessions were buried under debris.
“I felt like I wanted to cry,” Kelly said. “But crying isn’t going to do me any good.”…
