Alleged ‘frequent shoplifter’ injures Circle K clerk in west Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — A man is in custody after he allegedly injured a west Toledo Circle K employee who confronted him for shoplifting, according to a police report.

Officers responded to the Circle K in the 5300 block of Lewis Avenue at approximately 10 a.m. Monday regarding a robbery. Upon investigation, they learned that 24-year-old Tane Nogho was inside the store, stealing items, when an employee of the store approached him.

The employee recognized Nogho as a “frequent shoplifter” and confronted him, leading to an argument. Nogho then allegedly threatened physical harm to the employee, and the employee knocked a drink out of Nogho’s hand…
