TOLEDO, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Development announced $18.7 million in grants to help Ohioans facing housing instability across the state, including several Lucas County organizations.
According to a press release from the state, the grants will go toward funding temporary emergency shelters and helping people find permanent housing. In total, the money, awarded through the Homeless Crisis Response Program, will benefit 52 nonprofits and local government agencies across the state as they seek to help homeless Ohioans. These consists of 40 agencies operating 41 emergency shelters, and 12 housing stability programs, the state said.
