Wood County Humane Society under quarantine due to possible contagious cat disease

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A possible case of Panleukopenia, a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease of cats, is forcing the Wood County Humane Society in Bowling Green to go under quarantine.

The organization says they are closing the cat room to the public to prevent possible spread to other cats.

What this means:

  • The Wood County Humane Society is not accepting cat surrenders or strays until further notice.
  • The humane society will be closed, at the earliest, until December 27.
  • Cat and Kitten adoptions are also on hold until further notice.
  • The humane society is still accepting donations but they are only being accepted curbside.
