Toledo could follow other Ohio cities with entertainment fee

In 2011, Kyle Miasek, the finance director for the city of Youngstown, went out on a limb and created an additional tax levied on admission to events at the city’s arena and amphitheater.

That tax now generates about $300,000 a year for the city.

“That money then goes into a special fund that can only be used to make improvements to that site,” Mr. Miasek said…
