TOLEDO, Ohio — Members of Toledo’s Jewish community gathered Monday night to celebrate the second night of Hanukkah, doing so with heavy hearts after a deadly terrorist attack during a holiday celebration in Australia over the weekend.
The attack happened Sunday at Bondi Beach on the first day of Hanukkah, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens more, according to authorities. The violence sent shockwaves through Jewish communities around the world, including in northwest Ohio.
