A 66-year-old Toledo man who was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Monroe Street on Thursday evening has died, police said.
John R. Markus, of the 2400 block of Cass Road, was attempting to cross Monroe near Cheltenham Road at 5:41 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle operated by Richard Nowowiejski, according to police. Mr. Nowowiejski, 77, of the 3200 block of Meadowbrook Court, was driving east on Monroe.
