TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A 71-year-old Toledo man and his 33-year-old son have reunited after decades apart, thanks to a DNA test that connected them through Ancestry.com.
Calvin Cooper and Tim Holloway discovered their relationship this week after Cooper’s DNA test results were entered into the genealogy website’s system. The discovery came after Cooper participated in a virtual support group meeting where another participant noticed he was from Toledo.
“Nothing could compare to this moment,” Cooper said. “We start FaceTiming and it’s like, oh my God, you are! I have seven kids, eight now.”
Years of searching
