The National Weather Service released a high wind watch at 3:01 p.m. EST on Saturday valid for Monday between 1 a.m. EST and 10 p.m. EST for Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.
“West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible,” explains the weather service. “Snow and blowing snow are possible which should reduce visibilities and could make travel hazardous.”
“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” states the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.”
