Body pulled from Maumee River identified by county coroner

The body of a man recovered Monday from the Maumee River has been identified by the county coroner’s office as 19-year-old Jeremiah Porchia.

Mr. Porchia was reported missing Nov. 25 by Toledo police. He was last seen wearing an Ohio State sweatshirt, red sweatpants, and sandals. At the time, police said he could be in the downtown area.

On Monday, the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department’s water rescue unit responded to a 1:45 p.m. call about a body in the water behind Imagination Station. They recovered the body, and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy Tuesday…
