Lucas County awarded $1 million grant to improve housing quality

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — Lucas County was one of 29 communities in the state to receive a grant to assist in improving housing and quality of life, according to a press release issued Friday by the Ohio Department of Development.

The grants, which total $21.6 million across the state, are aimed at improving housing and providing homeownership and rental assistance to low- and moderate-income families. This includes home renovation and repair and more. The grants are funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership, the department said.
