TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A 36-year-old Toledo man died Saturday morning when his car was struck by a train at the North Detroit Avenue railroad crossing.
Police said the car was traveling south on North Detroit Avenue around 3 a.m. when it passed through the train crossing and was hit by a train moments later. The driver appeared to try to avoid the train at the last second but was struck, police said.
The train pushed the car roughly 50 feet before it could stop. The car caught fire with the driver trapped inside. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as Alandre Moore from Toledo.
