TOLEDO, Ohio — As of Jan. 5, Toledo residents can start placing up to five bulk items on the curb with their weekly trash, a move the city said it hopes will reduce blight and help residents.
This allowance of small bulk items with weekly pick up is something the city and trash collector Republic Services believe is a better idea than scheduling bulk pick up once a month.
The city of Toledo’s Director of Public Service, Megan Robson, said this change was years in the making. City administrators spoke with residents through community meetings, surveys, and also checked in with larger cities like Detroit and Columbus on their trash collection process.
