TOLEDO, Ohio — A fatal crash at a North Detroit Avenue railroad crossing Saturday morning has sparked calls for improved safety measures in the area.
Police say 36-year-old Alandre T. Moore died after his vehicle collided with a train at the crossing, which is marked with yield signs but lacks flashing lights or gates. According to the police report, the crossing was marked with flares, and train workers carried lanterns to warn drivers.
