Toledo men indicted for separately pointing lasers at patrol aircraft

A Lucas County grand jury indicted a pair of Toledo men for separately shining lasers at an Ohio State Highway Patrol plane in June.

Donald G. Cox, 52, of the 1900 block of Yarmouth Avenue, and Terrell Taylor, 45, of the 5600 block of West Bancroft Street, were indicted Wednesday on charges of interfering with the operation of an aircraft with a laser, a second-degree felony. The charges stem from two separate incidents on the same night.

According to police records, at 10:30 p.m. June 17, the Ohio State Highway Patrol aviation unit reported someone was pointing a blue laser at its plane. Officers determined the laser was coming from the backyard of a home on Yarmouth Avenue…
