OHIO (WJW) — Several communities and counties issued parking bans and snow emergencies as heavy snow and wintry weather hit NE Ohio Wednesday evening.
Winter weather advisories and lake effect snow warnings were issued ahead of the event, and several schools canceled classes on Thursday.
School closings
Parking bans:
- Maple Heights Police Department issued an emergency snow parking ban
- Newburgh Heights has issued a parking ban that will be in effect until further notice
- Nimishillen Township has issued a parking ban through 7 p.m. Thursday
- Sagamore Hills Township is under a snow emergency parking ban through 7 a.m. Friday
- Tallmadge is under a snow parking ban through 7 a.m. Friday
Snow emergencies:
- Lorain County has declared a Level 1 snow emergency
- Sandusky County is under a Level 2 snow emergency
