The village of Swanton has joined a growing chorus of citizens and public officials who are trying to stop FirstEnergy Corp. from getting Ohio’s electrical reliability standards weakened so the utility can have more time responding to power outages.
A three-page letter signed by Swanton Village Administrator Shannon Shulters states that her community strongly opposes a request for such relief.
