Snow Emergency issued in Monroe

The city of Monroe has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.

Residents are asked not to park along major routes and relocating their vehicles to other neighboring streets until these routes have been cleared. This allows the city to better serve residents in providing efficient plowing services. Those out of compliance may be subject to ticketing or towing.”Refuse and recycling containers should NOT be placed in the roadway during the duration of the Snow Emergency,” the city said in the announcement. “Additionally, for the safety of all, please do not let children play on the mounds of snow near the roadways. It is difficult for snowplow operators to see children.”…
