MAUMEE, Ohio — After nine inches of snow fell across parts of Toledo, many schools closed, giving kids a true snow day. For local families, it was the perfect opportunity to head outside and enjoy the winter weather.
At Side Cut Metropark in Maumee, the sledding hill was packed with dozens. For some, Side Cut is a familiar winter destination. Parents say they’ve been bringing their kids to the park for years to enjoy sledding, snowball fights, and fresh air.
“Just trying to get out of the house a little bit. We’ve been cooped up inside with the snow,” parent Matt Horen said. “The kids have a snow day, so just trying to get out and make some family memories.”…
