Sheriff Mike Navarre will buy a brand-new vehicle worth $58,665 to replace a 2023 vehicle with about 43,000 miles.
The vehicle, a 2026 Ford Explorer 4×4 Platinum with four-wheel drive from Baumann Ford in Oregon, has a total cost of $60,360 before a trade-in and discounts. Lucas County commissioners unanimously approved the request at their meeting Tuesday.
