TOLEDO, Ohio — A caretaker employed by the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center (NODC) was indicted on two felony counts related to an alleged incident of abuse.
According to Lucas County court documents, Charles Aikpaojie, 54, was indicted by a grand jury of once count of assault and one count of patient abuse, both fourth-degree felonies, on Jan. 28.
According to court records, the incident occurred on or around Dec. 15, 2025, indicating that Aikpaojie allegedly physically assaulted the victim, a patient he cared for within the facility, with a “personal weapon.”…
