Toledo City Council requests more budget cuts in letter to mayor’s administration

Toledo City Council has wrapped up budget hearings and presented its own amendments, but members still aren’t ready to vote on the city’s proposed 2026 budget.

On Friday, all 12 councilmen signed a letter to Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and his administration asking them to return to the drawing board to identify additional cuts.

“At this time, we cannot support passage of the budget as presented,” the letter states. “But we remain open to discussions with the Administration on the next steps needed to move forward.”…
