Maumee City Schools adds sixth dog to Panther Paws Program

MAUMEE, Ohio — The Panther Paws program at Maumee City Schools continues to grow, with the district adding its sixth therapy and facility dog in January.

Fiber, a facility dog, joined Maumee High School, giving each building its own trained canine to support students throughout the school day.

The program began three years ago, when Maggie, a therapy dog trained by Tricia Samuel, the district’s director of educational services, first visited classrooms part-time.
