TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo police officer who was accused of stealing from Walmart last year has been fired from the department, Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle said in a press release Monday afternoon.
Gregory Long, Jr. was terminated from his position as a TPD officer following the conclusion of the criminal case in which he was convicted, as well as an internal administrative investigation related to off-duty conduct, Troendle said. The termination is effective immediately.
Troendle said Long was found to be in violation of the following department policies, including “Willful Violation” and “Conduct Unbecoming of an Officer.” The conclusion of both the violations and the criminal case led the department to determine termination was appropriate…
