TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo mother filed suit against a local daycare and its employee after the employee allegedly left the woman’s daughter, alongside two other children, unsupervised in January.
The suit, filed in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Thursday, was filed on behalf of Zuri Sutton, whom WTOL 11 spoke to in January after the incident. Sutton is suing the daycare – Little Miracle’s Childcare Center LLC – and the employee who was supposed to be supervising the children at the time – Tommy Colbert. Colbert, 23, was charged with three counts of child endangerment in January. He has pleaded not guilty.
Colbert is also identified in the lawsuit as the child of Sophia Parker, one of the daycare’s owners. The other owner is identified in the suit as Antoinette Cobbler, who is also listed as a child of Parker in the suit. WTOL 11 spoke to Cobbler shortly after Colbert’s arrest in January…
