Police investigating after car crashes into west Toledo business, driver allegedly flees scene

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police are investigating after a vehicle struck a west Toledo business early Wednesday, after which the driver allegedly fled the scene.

Toledo police responded to the 200 block of West Alexis Road around 3:11 a.m. regarding a vehicle that struck a building. Police said they found an unoccupied vehicle in the front parking lot, and a “moderate-sized hole” in the building’s north-facing wall.

Police said they determined via preliminary investigation that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Alexis Road when the driver lost control, struck a small construction area and then slid into a building. Police called the city building inspector to the scene to assess any strurctural damage…
