TOLEDO, Ohio — It’s been 35 years of Kay’s Cakes & Candy Crafts in Maumee for Carolyn Giraudeau. She’s ready to retire, but this will be her second time retiring.
Giradeau began her professional career as a first grade school teacher at Arlington Public School in 1995 and taught for 30 years, and at year 25 she purchased her business and ran it before officially retiring five years later.
Giraudeau said running her business and becoming a full time baker was a dream come true. Now that sweet dream is coming to an end once March 2026 comes to a close, and to prepare to go into retirement, she said it’s time to get rid of everything in the store. All items are 50% off and anything she said she’s not able to sell, will go towards a school or college that does crafts, arts, or deals in baking…
