Toledo plant closing in May; 63 workers affected by layoffs

TOLEDO, Ohio — A manufacturing facility in Toledo will close this spring, leaving dozens of workers without jobs after the company filed a federal notice.

Wisconsin-based Boelter Companies Inc. announced it will permanently shut down its Custom Deco LLC facility at 1343 Miami St. in Toledo. The filing was made according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, notice filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on March 10.

The closure will affect 63 employees across several departments, including production, maintenance, shipping, quality control and administrative roles. The company said layoffs are expected to begin on or around May 11, with the facility’s final day of operations planned for May 29…
