OTTAWA COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) – A New York truck driver died Sunday after a chain reaction crash in backed-up traffic on the Ohio Turnpike.
There had already been a collision that morning in the same area of Interstate 80/90 in Ottawa County’s Harris Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). Eastbound traffic was still at a halt just before 10:30 a.m. when a tractor-trailer’s driver, later identified as Ibodulloev Mukhammadali, approached milepost 78.
For some reason, the driver didn’t stop and instead crashed into a stopped trailer, the OSHP determined. The force of the collision caused the second truck to hit the one in front of it…
