TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police said an officer shot at a pit bull on Friday to stop it from further attacking a woman at her west Toledo home.
Officers were called at about 3:50 p.m. to the 4100 block of Peak Avenue and arrived to see a pit bull attacking a 56-year-old woman on her porch, according to an incident report. Officer Hohenberger then drew her firearm “to dispatch the pit bull, saving the victim,” according to an incident report.
Officers did not indicate whether the dog was wounded or killed. The incident report shows Lucas County Canine Care & Control arrived on scene “and collected the canine.” Sgt.
