Construction on Navarre Avenue in Oregon to begin next week

OREGON, Ohio — A construction crew will begin the preliminary underground work for a safety improvement project on Navarre Avenue in Oregon next week, necessitating lane closures for the next several months.

The project will add multiple safety improvements to the road, including a center median, new traffic signals, overhead signage, resurfaced roads and an aesthetic improvement to landscaping and the street, and span Navarre Avenue from Isaac Streets Drive to between Kroger Drive and Coy Road. The goal is to reduce crashes and increase safety for drivers and pedestrians, according to the city.

Intermittent lane closures will happen, but at least one lane in both directions will remain open at all times. More intensive parts of the construction, like building the median and paving, will be planned for off hours…
