PEMBERVILLE, Ohio — Water levels are receding in the Village of Pemberville after one of the worst floods in its history, but residents and businesses are now facing a costly and time-consuming cleanup.
Officials say the Portage River, crested at more than 14 feet on Friday, marking the third-highest level on record. Mayor Carol Bailey, a longtime resident, said the flooding was especially severe, especially in recent memory.
