PEMBERVILLE, Ohio — A 90-year-old school building in Pemberville will remain closed through the next school year after a winter flood caused extensive damage, district officials said.
Eastwood Local Schools Superintendent Brian Hughes said water flooded the lower level of the former Pemberville Elementary building on Jan. 30 while preschool classes were in session. Students were evacuated safely, but the damage left the building without running water and with only limited usable restrooms.
