Lucas County leads state in signatures to ban large data centers

COLUMBUS — The campaign to prohibit the construction of large data centers in Ohio has received the most support from residents of Lucas County, according to signature collection data provided by Conserve Ohio.

The campaign has gathered 3,310 signatures in Lucas County so far. That’s about 1,000 more than the county with the second-highest number of signatures — Butler County. Wood County is home to the third-highest number of signatures at 1,826.

Overall, the Conserve Ohio campaign has reported 27,053 signatures collected as of Monday. The anti-data center group was authorized to begin collecting signatures in April after the Ohio Ballot Board approved the amendment as a single issue…
