TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo’s sustainability committee voted to move a proposed five-year trash collection contract with Republic Services to full council, adding provisions to hold the company accountable for missed pickups.
City leaders released details of the potential contract late Tuesday afternoon. The deal totals about $62 million over five years, with year one costing around $11.7 million. The contract includes a 3 percent annual increase and a fuel surcharge tied to diesel prices.
