MAUMEE, Ohio — The woman who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and beating a man at a Maumee motel for an extended period of time last year learned her sentence in court Thursday.
A Lucas County Common Pleas Court judge sentenced Martina Esqueda Jones, 29, to a minimum of 22 years in prison for one charge of felony kidnapping and two charges of felonious assault. For the kidnapping charge, Esqueda was sentenced to eight to 12 years with credit for 423 days. For both felonious assault charges, she will serve seven to 10 years, six months in prison.
Each of these sentences will be served consecutively. According to court records, “the harm caused by two or more of the multiple offenses committed was so great or unusual that no single prison term for any of the offenses committed as part of any of the courses of conduct adequately reflects the seriousness of the offender’s conduct.”…
