Beautiful desert landscape and mountain views; meals anyone would be proud to serve a guest; and air redolent of what comes out of the back end of a horse: These are the daily elements of Terry Hanley’s life.
With nine years as the general manager of Tanque Verde Ranch, Hanley can say he loves every moment of it. He isn’t above bussing a table or shoveling out the barn. Wherever a hand is needed, he’s there.
“I have this very nice office but I don’t spend a lot of time here,” Hanley said. “I’d rather be on the line in the kitchen expediting the food in the buffet, making sure the storerooms in the refrigerators are put away (like) they’re supposed to be. Especially on a busy day, a busy time, that allows the team operating over there just a little extra time to make sure the guests are taken care of.”…
